What This Policy
Covers

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. Please read it before sharing your details with us.

It applies to the Mashamba website and to enquiries you send us. Any sale of produce is handled under a separate written agreement, with its own terms and conditions.

Section 01

Who We Are

This website is operated by FFP (U) Ltd, trading as Mashamba, a fresh produce export company based in Kampala, Uganda. We are the controller of the personal data described here.

For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, email [email protected], call +256 772 748 798, or write to us at Bukoto Street, Plot 47, Kamwokya, Kampala.

You can also reach us through our contact page.

Section 02

Information We Collect

We collect information you give us directly. This includes your name, email address, phone number, organisation, country, product interests, and anything you write in an enquiry or message.

We also collect limited technical information automatically as you browse. This includes your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you view, gathered through cookies and similar tools.

We do not ask for sensitive personal data, and we request that you do not send any through the website.

Section 03

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to reply to enquiries, prepare quotations, arrange and manage shipments, and keep you updated on your order. In short, to provide the export service you ask for.

We also use it to keep the website secure, prevent misuse, meet our legal obligations, and improve how we work. We send marketing only where you have given clear consent.

Section 04

Under Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019, we process your data on clear legal bases. We rely on your consent, our legitimate business interests, a contract with you, or a legal obligation.

Consent covers marketing and optional messages. Legitimate interests cover answering enquiries and securing the site. A contract basis applies once we agree a sale. You may withdraw consent at any time.

Section 05

Cookies & Similar Technologies

Our website runs on the GoHighLevel platform, which sets cookies needed for the site to function and stay secure. These help pages load correctly and protect our enquiry forms from abuse.

We use Google reCAPTCHA to reduce spam, embed Google Maps to show our location, and load web fonts. These services may set their own cookies when their content appears on a page.

You can refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings. Some parts of the site may then work less smoothly.

Section 06

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with trusted providers who help us run our website and respond to you, and only as far as is needed.

These include our website and enquiry platform, GoHighLevel, and the Google services noted above. Each handles data under its own safeguards. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.

Section 07

International Data Transfers

We are based in Uganda and serve buyers in the UK, the EU, the Gulf, and beyond. Replying to you may involve transferring your data across borders, to you or to our service providers.

Some of these providers store data outside Uganda. Where data leaves Uganda, we take steps to keep it protected to a standard consistent with the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.

Section 08

How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep your information only for as long as we need it. While we are in contact about an enquiry or order, and for a reasonable period afterwards, we retain it to support our relationship.

When it is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it. We keep certain records for longer where accounting, tax, or other legal duties require it.

Section 09

How We Protect Your Information

We use appropriate organisational and technical measures to protect your data against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. Access is limited to people who need it to do their work.

No website or transfer method is completely secure. While we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security, and you share it with that understanding.

Section 10

Your Rights

You have rights over your personal data. These include the right to access it, correct it, ask us to delete it, restrict or object to its use, and request a copy in a portable form.

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. To exercise any right, contact us using the details above, and we will respond within a reasonable time.

If you have a concern we cannot resolve, you may complain to Uganda's Personal Data Protection Office. Buyers in the UK or EU may also contact their local data protection authority.

Section 11

Our website focuses on our own information and rarely links to outside sites. Where such a link does appear, it is provided for convenience only.

We do not control other websites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please read the privacy policy of any site before sharing your details with it.

Section 12

Children's Privacy

Mashamba is a business-to-business exporter, and this website is intended for buyers and trade professionals. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Section 13

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We do this to reflect changes in our services, our providers, or the law.

The current version always appears on this page, with the last-updated date shown above. Please review it when you return to the site.
